The album "4 (THE PINK ALBUM)" is said to be about a journey of self-discovery over the years. The first track "Wish You Were Here [feat. Khalid]," which was co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder, has a music video directed by Blythe Thomas. Lucas became a father himself while also experiencing the loss of his father, who appeared in the song "7 Years" and had a great influence on him. He said that he had fallen into a creative rut and decided to get sober in 2020.They focused on spending time with their family and making music at the rehearsal space where they started making music, a 10-minute bike ride from their home in their native Copenhagen. The album "4 (The Pink Album)" was born there, and in addition to reflecting on everything that happened during that period of time, he says that it succeeded in evolving the way he thought about what he should be. About the album, Lucas said the following. 4 (The Pink Album) is a pure reflection of myself. I'm not saying I'll never drink again, but I'm clean. I stopped drinking and became clean, to the point where I felt the need for self-medication. Writing, rehearsing, and working with music has become fun again in the last couple of years. I've decided to really get into this art form. I'm not trying to be professional. My goal is to be a happy amateur. Lukas Graham is a master of sublimating personal stories into universal pop songs. His frank and honest songs are still resonating in someone's heart today.
