After releasing a series of singles, B-side collections, and EPs, the scene has been waiting for an album, and this one is finally here, with eight diverse tracks that reflect his 24 years of experience. Recorded over 12 days at Narcissus Studios in London, the 44-minute album, 22 minutes on each side (intentionally set to the length of an old-fashioned 12-inch LP), is organized around a unifying theme, making it what one might call an old-fashioned album. It is a poem about relationships, love, struggles with insecurity, and the feelings of longing and losing hope in the context of adolescence in the 21st century.It also features backup vocals from up-and-coming singer Eva Gore, a bold statement that shows Ethan P. Flynn has come forward as a true artist. As he says he wanted to keep it heavy, the preceding track, "Abandon All Hope," is the most upbeat rock sound and guitar-focused song he has ever done.
