Theodor Kurrenzis' fifth Sony Classical album is, what a Tchaikovsky with Kopatchinskaja! Following the brilliant Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" comes a must-hear disc for early 2016. Kurrenzis covers a wide range of repertoire, not only Baroque and Classical music, which he has recorded in the past, but also contemporary music, and he also wields the Ruhr Triennial's "Gold of the Rhine". In orchestral music, he frequently performs Russian music, especially Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich, and it was Shostakovich's Symphony No. 14 "Song of the Dead" that won the "Record Academy Award" from Ongaku no Tomo in 2010 and impressed Japanese music fans with Kulenzis's name. She has released a very unique album "TAKE TWO - Violin and Violin Alone", which has been the talk of the town, and she has teamed up with another popular conductor/orchestra, Kurrenzis/Musica Eterna, to finally record a masterpiece among the masterpieces for the first time! The performance with the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Fedoseyev at the Rheingau Festival in Germany in 2011 was televised and attracted a great deal of attention. While focusing on contemporary and modern music, she has also recorded Beethoven's concertos with Fazil Say, Herreweghe, the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, and other period instrument ensembles, and is a virtuoso performer with a diverse range of musical vectors. He recently performed Mendelssohn with Kulenzis and Musica Eterna at the Bremen Festival in August 2015. The coupling is the relatively rare "Marriage" in the Stravinsky series following the "Rite of Spring".With its subtitle "Russian Dance with Song and Music" and its unique composition of percussion, four pianos, solo voice and chorus, Kulenzis vividly reveals the true value of this piece!
