Cut from the original analog tapes by Kevin Gray, pressed by RTI, 180g weight LP with chip-on jacket.David Axelrod was one of America's most influential composers, arrangers, and producers, and his work across musical genres in the mid to late 1960s made him one of the most in-demand figures in the music industry. Axelrod's breakthrough came in 1964 when he was appointed in-house producer at Capitol Records, a position he held for seven years, before a fruitful period of fantasy in the 1970s, when he released several outstanding and unique solo albums at Capitol, his work was a blend of R&B, jazz, rock, and His trademark blend of soul and hard-knock grooves was pleasantly reappraised many years later by the sample-heavy hip-hop generation. This release, originally on Fantasy, is on Jazz Dispensary (within Craft Recordings in Concord), a jazz/funk digger that has released the popular Jazz Dispensary series of compilations on RSD.
