The Asbury Jukes, led by Southside Johnny, a dashing New Jersey band that followed Bruce Springsteen into the blues and was known as a close ally of the Boss. Located in New York to the northeast and Philadelphia to the southwest, the band embodied a sound unique to New Jersey, a mix of hard-edged rock 'n' roll and Philly soul-flavored rhythm and blues, and they appeared on the German music program "Rockpalast" in 1977 and 1992. The 3CD and 2DVD collection features the band performing with Mitch Ryder and Nils Lofgren at the 5th Rockpalast Night in Gurgahale, Essen in October 1979, and a second show at the Live Music Hall in Cologne on March 26, 1992, where they played with their ally Little Steven. In the second show, held on March 26, 1992, at the Live Music Hall in Cologne, their ally Little Steven joined them on stage to perform four songs. The DVD can be played on most domestic players.
