The intelligent German pianist Michael Richet is known as an obsessive pianist who has recorded the piano concertos of C.P.E. Bach for the Hensler label and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 for the Profil label, as well as cadenzas by various composers, including Richet's own compositions. He is also known as a pianist with a passion for recording cadenzas by various composers including Richet himself. This collection of 20th century piano concertos includes works by Schulhoff, Copland, Honegger, Ravel, Anttille, Gershwin, and a great variety of other composers. The American composer Anttille is a futurist and experimental composer who used jazz techniques in many of his works. Also, the Czech Schulhoff is the nephew of the 19th century pianist J. Schulhoff. His works were branded as degenerate art under the Nazi regime, and Schulhoff was arrested after the annexation of the Czech Republic and died of illness in the Wartsburg prison camp.The reappraisal came rapidly in the 1990s, and Richet also recorded a concerto for piano and small orchestra.
