Description:

Rare recording of Django Reinhardt made one week before his death. 20-page booklet with Jean-Pierre Leloir's Photo, a previously unpublished photo by a famous French photographer, is used on the cover. This is a recording of Django Reinhardt, a pioneer of manouche jazz, made on March 10 and 11, 1953. Less than a week after this recording, Django unexpectedly died on March 16, and this recording is known as a precious recording made just before his death. The original is "The Great Artistry ofDjango Reinhardt" on the original Clef disc. Bonus tracks include various recordings from '47 and an additional recording from '53 (Decca), which is said to be the only performance with Marshall Soler.
