Fabio Biondi is a master of baroque violin and a genius in the world of ancient music born in Italy. With his own period ensemble, Europa Galante, Biondi has produced many masterpieces including Vivaldi's "12 Fantasias" by Telemann, his first unaccompanied recording. Biondi plays a famous instrument made in Naples in 1767 by Ferdinando Galliano of the Galliano family, a family of master craftsmen of old Italian violins. The polyphony, color, melodic beauty, rhythm, and improvisation of a single violin played by the mature and gifted Biondi clearly reveals the peak of instrumental music in the late German Baroque period.
