The latest work for guitar quartet by Bill Orcutt, the former hardcore blues guitarist of Harry Pussy. Moving away from the compositional approach of his previous album, *Music for Four Guitars*, he presents a more melodic and human-centered sonic world. Conceived for a 2026 performance in New York and recorded in San Francisco from October to November 2025, this album forms a dense yet fluid texture woven by four guitars, centered on simple repetitive motifs and counterpoint. Many of the 12 tracks, each with a concise structure of about two and a half minutes, build melodies and variations from foundational patterns, generating organic movement. A poetic work that celebrates “movement” itself rather than form or structure, this ambitious album reimagines music as an expression that connects directly to emotion. Mastering was handled by James Plotkin.
