Jimeno was appointed principal percussionist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2001. He then studied conducting to further his studies as a musician, and his talent has blossomed into a leading young musician. He made his debut with the Concertgebouw in January 2014 as Jansons' understudy and became a conductor attracting worldwide attention. His debut performance in Japan as a conductor was with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2013, followed by two visits to Japan in 2015.In November of the same year, he made a very successful tour of Japan with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and his name became well known in the Japanese music community.
