Tedesco: Guitar Concerto No. 1 / Song Cycle for Voice and Guitar Castelnuovo-Tedesco was born as a Jewish Italian, and after the establishment of Mussolini's Fascist regime, he fled to the United States and worked as a film music composer in Hollywood. His "Platero and I" for guitar and recitation is especially well known in Japan, but this disc includes his masterpiece Guitar Concerto written for Segovia. Neoclassical and neatly written, it is a masterpiece full of beautiful melodies.
