A Mozart Sequel with New MembersThe Leipzig String Quartet, formed in 1988 by the principal players of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, has recorded ten of Mozart's best-known string quartets over the years, winning numerous awards. Written between the ages of 14 and 17, these works, which showcase Mozart's inventive and sometimes surprising melodies, are all unique and individualistic. The works are all full of originality and ingenuity, sometimes with surprising melodies. The influences of Milan, where he visited with his father, are also blended into these interesting compositions. The sharp and uncompromising performance fully conveys the enthusiasm of the young Mozart.In 2015, hear Mozart performed by the new members, with the first violinist changing members from Alzberger to Konrad Mook, formerly of the Petersen Quartet.
