Description:

Alfredo Rodriguez, whose talent was recognized by Quincy Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Chucho Valdez, Sting, Paul Simon, and others, transcends the boundaries of genres and presents colorful music with percussion and vocals. Pedrito Martinez. The result is a fusion of the most exciting and creative energies of these two Cuban artists! Although both grew up in Havana, they came from different backgrounds. Alfredo, born to a father who was a popular singer, is an artist with a foundation in classical music. Pedrito, on the other hand, is an artist who honed himself on the streets of Havana, learning percussion and the folk and religious music of his Afro-Cuban roots. Both artists, however, emigrated from Cuba to the United States and have been influenced by music from around the world, each carving out a musical path in his or her own unique way. And here is a definitive encounter. From the opening, which Alfredo describes as "listening to the music of Benin, Cameroon, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Cape Verde, I wanted to weave their rhythms and melodies into my own music," the two artists' talent overflows with inspiration. Pedrito's rootsy music is clearly expressed and tailored with bata drums, and the lyrical intro of M2 leads us into a grand world with earthy vocals. There are ballads that evoke the bright colors of Cuba, melodies with dazzling melodic patterns and festive rhythms, and catchy and sophisicated pop tunes that are typical of Alfredo, who was trained by Quincy. Most of the originals were created by Alfredo, with verses and rhythms added by Pedrito, and then solidified during a week of rehearsals in L.A. The final product was a collection of songs that Quincy had tailored to his own tastes and tastes. The final product was created by Quincy, and it is unmistakably the result of the three artists' talents, as each song is full of the artists' ideas and sophisticated performances. On the other hand, the cover number was also a masterpiece! The iconic Quincy Jones song "Thriller," which wowed the audience at a live performance in Japan, was brilliantly rendered on piano/keyboards and percussion, and the highlight was the "Super Mario Theme"! The performance of the Mario theme as a backbone, combining motifs that make you think of Mario walking, jumping, getting coins, clearing a stage, etc., makes you smile (or laugh?). The arrangement is superb. If the development of the music is brilliant, the choice of keyboard tones is nothing short of exquisite! This is a work that makes you feel the flight of Alfredo Rodriguez's talent, which has been growing with Quincy Jones' tremendous support. A further breakthrough is inevitable!
