Dwight Yoakam, the legitimate heir to the Bakersfield sound and a driving force behind the new country rock movement, was one of the most important artists of the country scene in the 80s. Now, three of his studio albums are available as stand-alone albums in an analog box released as a Record Store Day limited edition this year! This is his second album, "HILLBILLY DELUXE," released in 1987 and remastered in 2023. Since his debut in 1984, Dwight Yoakam has gained popularity as a representative artist of the contemporary country scene with his country rock sound. He has released 17 studio albums to date, with over 30 songs on the U.S. Country Song Chart and numerous platinum discs, and has sold over 25 million albums to date, making him a very significant artist.While firmly rooted in his roots, he also incorporates sounds of Americana, rock, pop, and soul, singing the very heart and soul of America, and he is also an actor. This year, as a Record Store Day exclusive, he has just released a 4-CD analog box set featuring his three studio albums released on Reprise Records in the 80s, plus a bonus disc of rare tracks recorded at the time. The three studio albums included in the box set have now been released as stand-alone color analog vinyl albums. As with the Record Store Day exclusive, the soundtracks are the latest remastered recordings from 2023. This is his second album "HILLBILLY DELUXE" released in 1987.Like its predecessor, the album debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Top Country Albums chart, and four singles, "Little Ways," "Please, Please Baby," "Always Late with Your Kisses" and "Little Sister," were cut from the album. The album has also placed all four singles within the Top 10 on the U.S. Hot Country Singles Chart.
