Samara Joy, a rising star in the jazz vocal world who has won two Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Jazz Album at the 65th Grammy Awards and Best Jazz Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards, has released her long-awaited second major album. This album was recorded with her touring band members and co-produced by Samara and veteran trumpet player Brian Lynch, a multiple Grammy Award winner. The album showcases a synergistic approach to arranging and a soulful sound that offers a glimpse of the intimacy she has built with her touring band. Samara is not only an outstanding vocalist on this album, but also a remarkable collaborator who contributes to the band in the creation of each note and each song, giving her a multifaceted role in this ensemble. Speaking of her role in the ensemble, Samara says, "I feel like I am the fifth voice in the band, the fifth horn. I hope listeners can see that I am a 'musician' as well."
