Washington, DC-based experimental jazz-punk trio The Mesthetics (drummer Brendan Canty, Joe Larry of the seminal punk band Fugazi, and guitarist Anthony Pirog) have teamed up with acclaimed jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader James Brandon Lewis for their debut album impulse! The band's debut album impulse! They have layered jazz, punk, funk, aggression, and innovation into a definitive range of instrumental music. The Mesthetics, a band formed in 2016 by former Fugazi members Joe Larry and Brendan Canty with guitarist Anthony Pirog, whose rabid fan base spans the globe, followed two years later by their self-titled debut, and in 2019, their second album, " Anthropocosmic Nest" has been released so far, but this album marks the debut of impulse!
