Shedding light on a rarely performed masterpiece, Jaroussky's JC Bach: Aria Collection is a collection of arias by Johann Christian, the youngest son of JS, whom Mozart admired in a letter to his father. Born in Germany and known as "Bach of Milan" or "Bach of London" depending on where he was active, JC was a celebrity in the music world at the time and strongly influenced the young Mozart when he visited London on tour. Today, although he is known as a member of the Bach family, he is overshadowed by Mozart and his works are rarely performed. Jaroussky, a very popular countertenor, has actively recorded rarely performed works such as "Opium" (VC-2166212) and "Castrato, celestini arias" (VC-3634142).
