Music that should be sung, brimming with vitality, and expressed as vividly as a living, breathing entity—Cho approaches these works as dialogues brimming with wit, drama, and characters, pursuing the “truth” inherent in each phrase rather than perfection. Recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Michael Fine, this album presents Cho’s vision of how Mozart’s piano music should sound. Cho Jae-hyuk is a pianist and organist from South Korea. With his rich expression and superb technique, he is active in both concert and recording, bringing music to audiences around the world. He began playing the piano at age 5 and the organ at age 16, studying at Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and other institutions. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in 1993. To date, he has performed with the Seoul Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic, the Linz Bruckner Orchestra, and the Monte Carlo Philharmonic, among others. His recordings include CD releases on Sony Classical, Evidence, and OrchidClassics. He is also actively engaged in various activities to connect music with audiences, such as appearing as a guest on the popular KBS Classic FM program “With the Piano,” giving lecture-concerts, and hosting a children’s concert series at the Seoul Arts Center.
