Description:

Chopin is a great chamber orchestrator, and this CD features some of the most brilliant concerto works of Chopin's youth, including the "Don Giovanni Variations," which was a great success at its premiere and helped make Chopin a household name, and the "Andante Spianato et polonaise" which was highly praised by Schumann. Also included are "Krakowiak," "Grand Fantasy on Polish Songs," and "Andante Spianato and Brilliant Polonaise. Piano is Ekaterina Litvinzeva, who has been based in Germany since 2011 and recorded Chopin's Piano Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 for the Profil label in 2015. She will perform with the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Mardirosyan of Armenia, who is well-known in Japan. About the work: Chopin completed the Variations on "Please give me your hand" from "Don Giovanni" Op. 217 at the age of 217. The work contributed greatly to Chopin's fame due to the great success of its premiere, and Schumann also greatly admired it. Although recordings without orchestra have been increasing, it is definitely more gorgeous and enjoyable with orchestra considering its character as a seduction song of Don Giovanni. Grand Fantasy on Polish Songs, Op. 13, completed at the age of 20.It consists of four parts: Largo (nocturne-like introduction), Andantino (using a Polish folk song), Allegretto (using a song by Polish composer Krupinski), and Vivace (using the folk dance Krakowiak). This music is composed of Polish folk songs, songs, and folk dances. Krakowiak, Op. 14, was completed at the age of 18. It is known for the most extensive orchestration among Chopin's works, and the pastoral and beautiful mazurka-like opening section is said to have been his favorite. The main part, Rondo, is a familiar music written in the style of folk dances from the Krakow region in 2/4 time. Andante Spianato and Op.22 The second half of the Polonaise was completed at the age of 21, and the first half, Andante Spianato, at 24. As the name suggests, it is a combination of a smooth and emotional Andante and a technical Polonaise. Although there are more and more recordings of the Polonaise without the orchestra, the interesting aspects of the orchestral version, such as the heroic opening of the Polonaise, which is truly Tchaikovsky, remain unchanged.
