Jun Fukamachi, the legendary keyboardist who collaborated with the world’s top musicians and led Japan’s fusion scene. A special release combining footage of his piano solo recital (DVD) with his final work, a collection of songs performed with vocals and piano (CD). This marks the first-ever DVD release of Jun Fukamachi’s solo piano recital, held at Tokyo’s Suntory Hall in October 2007, seven years before his untimely passing. Solo piano was the performance style to which he devoted the most energy from 2001 onward, with every piece from start to finish performed entirely through improvisation. His playing—at times intense and fierce, at other times flowing and beautiful—fully showcases Jun Fukamachi’s charm as a pianist. The DVD also includes a CD featuring the song "Wish," which was recorded shortly before his passing and ultimately became his final work. This marks the first official release of both recordings. Recorded on October 27, 2007, at Suntory Hall (Blue Rose) ■ Video interviews with the artist have been added before and after the main program (approx. 92 minutes total)
