British jazz guitarist John McLaughlin formed the John McLaughlin Trio with popular bassist Jeff Berlin, who has played on albums by Bill Bruford and Alan Holdsworth, and Indian drummer and percussionist Trilok Gurtu, who is versatile in Indian music and jazz. The trio toured Europe for an extended period of time beginning in 1988, appearing at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Madrid Jazz Festival, among others. This is a live archive of the concert they gave in Bremen, Germany on June 4 of the same year. This album contains the complete set list of the day, including cover songs and original numbers, and the superb playing that will make fans roar shines through in many places. This album is a must-have for fans, as no albums from Jeff Berlin's time with the band have been released!
