Rick Wakeman, "the wizard of the keyboard," is one of the top keyboard players on the rock scene today. He first made a name for himself as a session musician while a student at the Royal Academy of Music, then joined the Strawbs, where he gained attention as an up-and-coming keyboard player, before joining Yes as Tony Kaye's successor, expanding the band's musical horizons as a multi-keyboard player. In parallel with his work with the band, Rick Wakeman also had a solo career that produced a string of hit albums, including "The Six Wives Of Henry VIII" and "Journey To The Centre Of The Earth," and became a core artist in the British progressive rock scene. Rick Wakeman released the album "No Earthly Connection" in April 1976, and in conjunction with its release, he embarked on a 15-show UK-only tour. Unlike in the past, he will not be accompanied by an orchestra on this tour, but will instead lead his backing band, the English Rock Ensemble, which participated in the recording of the album.The London concert on April 21 was recorded and broadcast as a BBC Radio special. This is a live album of the broadcast and perfectly captures the entire concert, including the encores. It is a live album with great contents to enjoy Rick Wakeman's live performance as a solo artist in the 1970s.
