Genesis, one of the biggest selling bands in the progressive rock scene, has been on hiatus since their 2007 "Turn It On Again Tour" due to the after effects of Phil Collins' illness. However, it was announced that the band will not be performing any more, starting with a show in Birmingham on September 20, 2021, for the first time in 14 years, followed by a 47-show tour of the UK, North America, Europe, and the UK only... This is a remastered CD release of a rare live archive of Genesis' first live performance during Peter Gabriel's tenure in the band, which was recorded and broadcast for TV/radio. After the success of the album "Foxtrot" in their home country of the United Kingdom, the management decided to make a full-scale entry into the North American market. As part of this plan, the band's live performance was planned to be broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour, a popular music program on American radio.The band's 1973 UK tour included a performance in Leicester on February 25 and a concert in Manchester on February 24, which were recorded for this purpose. However, the recorded material was not broadcast, but kept in storage, and was edited from the recordings of these two dates and released as "Genesis Live". This is a live album of the material from the Leicester show that was never broadcast and is a compilation of the encores, with the exception of a portion of the set list from the day of the show. This live album includes the great song 'Supper's Ready', which was not included in the official release of the album, as it was recorded at the time of its release, which will bring tears to Genesis fans...
