Pink Floyd, one of the top bands not only in the progressive rock scene but also in the British rock scene, released their debut album in 1967 and since then has continued to create one-of-a-kind albums with original sound ideas and concepts. The band influenced many rock bands, and their 1973 release "Madness" was a worldwide hit, spending 741 weeks on the U.S. album charts and selling over 50 million copies. After achieving success in their native England as well as in Europe, Pink Floyd embarked on a full-scale tour in 1970 in an attempt to achieve success in the United States.The tour began in New York City on April 9, 1970, and was followed by two 20-show U.S. tours, including a studio show on San Francisco TV/radio station KQED on April 30, 1970, which was broadcast for promotional purposes, and a concert at the Fillmore West the day before that, which was recorded live for a special program on local rock radio station KSAN-FM and as the product of a live album.
