Italian lounge/jazz master, DJ/producer/guitarist/bandleader Nicola Conte releases his new album! It's been 9 years since his last solo album! From FAR OUT, a long-established Brazilian/crossover label in the UK that left us the classic "NATURAL"! The album is titled "Umoja", which means "unity" or "oneness" in Swahili, and crystallizes the emotions of deep jazz, Latin, Afrofuturism, Bossa Nova, and Soul from all over the world that he has studied throughout his life! The master musician, whose works have been recorded for such prestigious labels as Blue Note, Impulse! That is how the relationship between Nicolas Conte and FAR OUT began. Later, he collaborated with vocalist Steffania Dippiero on the highly acclaimed album "Natural," which further strengthened his credibility.Umoja" studies the rhythms of the indie spiritual jazz and free jazz of the 1970s, the private soul music of the very small press, and the African and Afro-Caribbean works, while simultaneously drawing on the rhythms of Ronnie Liston Smith, Gary Bartz, Afrobeat The project also incorporates the essence of originators Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, and others. Nicola produced the entire album, and guitarist Alberto Parmegiani, a longtime friend of Nicola's, co-wrote the music with Nicola.Guest musicians include UK vocalist Zara Mcfarlane, Finnish saxophonist Timo Lassy, French vibraphonist Simon Mullier, American vocalist Myles Sanko, up-and-coming South African drummer Fernando Damon, former Roy Hargrove bassist Ameen Saleem, Serbian flutist The recording of the album is also a matter of concern. The recordings were recorded directly to analog tape, with only two takes used for each track. Nicolas says, "We did very little post-production or editing, and left the magical live sessions as they were.
