A gathering of jazz musicians active in NY and around the world! This album is the culmination of the work of Tomohiro Mori, a drummer and composer who connects Japan and New York, the home of jazz. After returning to the New York jazz scene in 2022, he worked with trumpeter Benny Benack III and other friends to further refine each song, and finally decided to produce an album. In pursuit of "the expressive possibilities of bebop, a unique jazz style of the past," he not only performed, but also composed, arranged strings, and produced the album himself. The strings are provided by cellist Enko Muraoka's team, who has worked as a studio musician supporting King Gnu and other artists. Also featured on the album is Keita Ogawa, an internationally acclaimed percussionist who has played with the Grammy Award-winning band Snarky Puppy.Prana, the title track of the album, means "energy" or "life force," and the entire album is filled with the vitality of Mori, who has learned a lot in Japan and New York over the past few years.
