NIGHTSHIFT's last album, completed after a short period of tremendous work and overcoming the death of their partner! After the death of their partner, NIGHTSHIFT completed their last album in a short period of time. In 2006, Jérôme Beauret and Gael Benjamin (aka Geister), who had become close friends the year before, decided to work together on an album dedicated solely to the California music that had influenced them. Their first single, "Ocean Bay", received extensive airplay on RTL DJ Georges Lang's night show "LES NOCTURNES" (which is still airing today). Jérôme and Gaëlle were both concentrating on their respective solo careers, but unfortunately, Jérôme passed away in the summer of 2023. Although some of the demos they had been working on for years remained, the lyrics were almost nonexistent and were also stored in MP3 files.So, technically speaking, the album should never have made it to this day, as most of the songs were completely useless... However, two songs, "Little Glow" and "If We Can Get Away That Far", stood out, so we managed to complete them and release them as a digital EP in Jerome's memory. At the end of 2023, while Gael was listening to these demos again, he decided to finish the album without worrying about singing or playing Jerome's parts himself. From this moment on, a race against time begins in a Parisian studio during the Christmas vacations of 2023. All ongoing projects are cancelled and work begins immediately on the album. First, he finishes the songwriting and writes a new song, "Here & Now", dedicated to Jérôme. Then, all instruments and vocals were recorded, performed, and finally mixed and mastered. On January 1, 2024, ten days after this dizzying process, the album "The Flybuster" was completed.Musically speaking, this album is in the vein of the first album, with the familiar "West Coast" sound, but with a sophisticated and modern sound, making it a gem of an AOR album!
