This is the band's first new studio album in 18 years, since their 2005 album "A Bigger Bang". The album contains 12 songs, and was recorded at various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Metropolis Studios in London, Sanctuary Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, Electric Lady Studios in New York City, and The Hit Factory/Jamano Studios in New York City, and many other locations around the world. One bonus track will be included on the Japanese pressing only. Hackney Diamonds" is the first collaboration between the Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood) and New York-based producer and musician Andrew Watt. Andrew won the Producer of the Year Award at the 2021 Grammy Awards and has previously worked with Pearl Jam, Iggy Pop, and Elton John. The video for the first single, "Angry," stars Sidney Sweeney and was directed by François Rousselet. The original artwork for Hackney Diamonds was created by digital animator Paulina Almira, and the songs featuring performances by Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021, are "Mess It Up," the seventh track, and "Live by the Sword," the eighth track.Former member Bill Wyman plays bass on "Liv By The Sword," while the 11th track, "Sweet Sounds of Heaven," features Lady Gaga (vocals) and Stevie Wonder (keyboards & piano). Paul McCartney on bass on "Bite My Head Off" and Elton John on piano on "Get Close" and "Liv By The Sword" respectively.
