King Crimson

Description:

The final album of the 1st period Crimson, with a mixture of beautiful songs like "Kagerou", stormy jazz-rock songs and refracted pop world! This is the final album by the first phase Crimson, which was restarted with only Mel Collins remaining from the previous album, Ian Walrath on drums, and Boz Burrell, who joined the band on vocals, on bass. The feud between Fripp and Pete Sinfield became apparent, and the mood of the work was unsettled, but it was a good time to release the ultimate ballad "Islands," which refined the hard beauty presented in the previous album "Lizard," "A Sailor's Tale," a powerful jazz rock song that is typical of Crimson after "Sun and Fear," and "Warrior's Tale," a song that develops amidst the unsettled mood. The album contains memorable songs such as "Letters," a psychological drama that unfolds in a disturbing mood, and "Ladies of the Road," an eccentric pop song that is unique among the early songs on the album. This is the first time since the original Crimson that the band toured for a long time, and the style of this album is very different from the previous album, which was built up through studio work, and it has a unique personality among all Crimson studio works.During rehearsals for the band's second North American tour after the album's release, Fripp announced the band's dissolution, but management persuaded the band to complete the scheduled dates, and a live album, "Earthbound," was produced from the February-April 1972 tour. To celebrate the new release, the liner notes have been updated." New liner notes written by Satoshi Ichikawa? The album is now available in paper jacket/SHM-CD. Paper jacket/SHM-CD specification, E-style flip-back jacket + special inner sleeve ■Bonus tracks for the Japanese edition ■Commentary, lyrics, and bilingual translation included
