Fernando Lopez-Grasa(1906-1994) Songs and Folk Songs, Vol. 3 Fernando Lopes-Grasa is one of the greatest Portuguese composers of the second half of the 20th century. After studying composition and piano in Lisbon with Freitas Branco and Vianna da Motta, he settled in Coimbra, known as a university city, where he had close contact with a group of writers and intellectuals. In his 30s, he spent three years in Paris, where he learned the French musical style of the time and, at the same time, fused modern music with Portuguese folk songs to write simple and beautiful works. He wrote simple and beautiful works. This album also includes "Six Old French Songs," a world premiere recording of an early work influenced by French culture, and "Six Old English Songs," also a world premiere recording, as well as a song based on a poem by a great Portuguese poet.
