[Boris Broftsin, a regular at the “Le Pont International Music Festival in Ako and Himeji” directed by Daishin Kashimoto, releases his long-awaited solo album!] Boris Broftsin, who made his British debut after graduating at the top of his class from the Moscow Conservatory, currently serves as a professor at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts (MUK). Following his victory at the Tibor Varga International Competition, he has performed repeatedly with world-class orchestras such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under the baton of conductors including Marin Alsop and Neeme Järvi. In addition to major international music festivals such as Verbier, Salzburg, Lugano, and Edinburgh, he regularly performs at “Le Pont International Music Festival,” directed by Daishin Kashimoto. As part of the “Spectrum Concerts Berlin” project, he has released a collection of works by Bloch. Both sonatas are masterpieces that explore deeply personal themes. While “No. 1” is cast in the shadow of the ravages of World War I, “No. 2, ‘Mystical Poem’”—inspired by dreams and interspersed with Gregorian chant melodies—presents a striking contrast. The album also includes “Ba’al Shem,” in which melodies from traditional Jewish music evoke both melancholy and ecstasy, and “Suite No. 1 for Solo Violin,” composed in the Neo-Baroque style.
