Description:

Hungarian Rhapsody" is one of Liszt's masterpieces. It is said that there are 19 pieces in total, some of which have been arranged into orchestral versions, which are also very popular. However, it is not well known that Liszt, who always revised and adapted his own works many times, also had original piano versions of the "Hungarian Rhapsody". The "Magyar Rapszodiak" on this album is the original version, which Liszt composed from 1846 to 1847 by combining various melodies he heard in Hungary (the reason why it begins with No. 12 is that it is the first of 11 "Hungarian (The reason it begins with No. 12 is that it is numbered after the eleven "Hungarian Folk Melodies"). Some of these pieces were later transformed into the "Hungarian Rhapsodies" that we hear today, but the original versions are also full of Liszt's flamboyant techniques and are very enjoyable to listen to.
