The Tempest Trio, led by the virtuoso Ilya Kahler, performs Dvořák. Composed in 1875, No. 1 opens with a melancholy melody, a bit like Schubert's, with a dizzying alternation of major and minor keys. The first piece, composed in 1875, opens with a melancholy melody that alternates between major and minor, much like Schubert. It is not often performed, but the Bohemian atmosphere that pervades the entire work is very Dvořák. The passionate No. 2 is a highly accomplished work with a well-thought-out structure.
