Limited EditionThe remarkable album "Four Seasons" by the Aquilon Quintet, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary by looking at the major issues of contemporary society!The Aquilon Quintet is a French woodwind quintet of five women who won the first prize at the 2006 Munich International Competition. Flutist Marion Larancourt is the principal player of Les Siecle, led by François-Xavier Lhote, and has performed Ravel's "Daphnis et Chloe" (KKC-5760 / HMM-905280) and Debussy's "Prelude to the Pastoral Afternoon" (KKC-5998 / HMM-905291). He is also a virtuoso performer on disc. He has also released a solo album (NMM-090) combining Bach and Reich. On this album, "Four Seasons," she examines major social issues of our time, such as climate change and the improvement of women's status in the classical music world, by comparing them to the "four seasons" through her performances. The album features Piazzolla's "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" and works related to the four seasons by Tomasi, Barber, Jennifer Higdon (1962-), and Cecilia McDowall (1951-).It is the group's main goal and desire to raise awareness of these themes and also to promote interest in woodwind instruments.
