Rare recordings of Munch and ParayThere was a time when three French conductors led great American orchestras. They were Pierre Montoux (1936-1952) of the San Francisco Symphony, Charles Munch (1949-1962) of the Boston Symphony, and Paul Paray (1951-1962) of the Detroit Symphony. The recordings include four previously unreleased recordings made by Munsch in Boston and Paley in Detroit. The pianists are Monique Arth and Robert Casadoche, also French. Of note are Mozart's Concerto K.466 and Bach's Concerto BMV 1052, which are (at the time of release) first recordings. Since broadcast sound sources are used, the program and performer introductions by the announcer are included at the beginning of [CD1]. King International Inc.
