HIGHLIGHTS!!! Lukas Vondracek, winner of the 2016 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birth, has recorded all of Rachmaninoff's piano concertos! In 2023, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birth, the Czech genius Lukas Vondracek has recorded his complete works for piano and orchestra (four piano concertos and a rhapsody on a theme by Paganini)! Born in 1986 in Opava, Czech Republic, Vondráček was trained by his pianist parents and quickly became a child prodigy, performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy at age 15. The following year, at the age of 16, he toured the United States and made a very successful recital debut at Carnegie Hall. In 2016, at the age of 29, she won the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition! The Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 that she played in the finals was highly acclaimed for its "not only technique but also emotional richness and songfulness.Since then, "Rachmaninoff" has become synonymous with Vondracek, but in March 2020, due to the spread of the new coronavirus, his performance activities came to a halt. However, this event became a precious time to confront Rachmaninoff, and led to the realization of a recording of the complete works in 2021. The Prague Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Tomáš Brauner, performs Rachmaninoff's world with passion and color. The recording of the complete works by the same player is surprisingly rare, and this new recording by Vondracek, who plays Rachmaninoff, is the most remarkable release for the Rachmaninoff year.
