Description:

A Revolution in Piano Quartet. The piano quartet is often thought of as a more subdued form than the string quartet, piano trio, or piano quintet. However, the piano quartet is the ultimate form of chamber music, with the balance and independence of the instruments ideally maintained. A young permanent group with high expectations for this genre has been born. Ensemble Montsolo. The group is led by Japanese violinist Yamika Honda, all graduates of the Conservatoire de Paris, and won the Best Contemporary Music Prize and the Spedidam Scholarship Prize at the Normandie Forum Music Festival in 2006, the Grand Prix the following year, the first prize in the chamber music category at the TIM International Music Competition in Verona in 2008, and the first prize in the "Pro Musica" category at the TIM International Music Competition in 2009. In 2008, they won the first prize in the chamber music category at the TIM International Music Competition in Verona, and in 2009, they were selected for the "Pro Quartet".Mont Solo" means "my solo", and it is a wish that each player, while being a soloist, will evolve to achieve the highest harmony as an ensemble. In addition to their high performance technique, the French musicians create a surprisingly moving world with their fashionable and bright musicality, dedication and concentration toward music, youthful energy, and fresh sensibility. Through performances and recordings, their main goal is to bring piano quartets from the East and West to the world, and the first CD of Mahler and Chausson's works was recorded in Tokyo in June 2014. Chausson's Piano Quartet is a large work, nearly 40 minutes long, but it is a sublime work with beautiful and moving melodies. The Ensemble Monsolo's soulful performance moves you without making you feel the length of the piece at all.The young writings of Mahler's teenage years also renew the impression of "gloomy and decadent," full of naïve yet intense excitement and blade-like awesomeness, making us realize that this is Mahler's world that is unmistakable.
