Description:

Charlie Watts memorial album. Charlie's footsteps in rare version. Includes 2 songs from before he joined the Stones. A taciturn drummer who supported the beat of the world's greatest rock and roll band for over 50 years. Charlie's first demo recording with R. Stones on March 11, 1963, and his first live recording with the Stones in September 1963. In addition, "Wet in Black!" and "Under My Thumb," as well as a rare mix with big drums, and a performance with Jack Bruce in the Alexis Korner Band before he joined the Stones. As Keith says, "The best rock 'n' roll band in the world just happened to have a jazz drummer." "White drummers don't swing, except Charlie Watts. Eternal Grooves is proud to present this compilation of Charlie Watts' greatest hits from the early Stones. The first song, "Get Off Of My Cloud," is a two-bar drum-only intro to the first song by Charlie Watts, and the snare fill-in is so powerful, it's hard to miss it. The snare fill-in is very Charlie. The first track, "Get Off Of My Cloud," features a rare stereo mix of the song, which is now lost in history. The second song, "The 19th Nervous Breakdown," is also recorded in stereo mix, which has never been officially released. The introduction of Keith's guitar riff from the left channel, followed by Brian's bass riff from the right channel, has to be heard in the stereo mix! Why it has never been officially released is a complete mystery. The third and twelfth tracks include BBC material from Alexis Korner's band before he joined the Stones. Jack Bruce (CREAM, etc.) on bass.Tracks 4-6 are pre-debut Stones demos. The songs are selected with an emphasis on blues and R&B, showing the sincerity of the music. Tracks 9-11 are again rare stereo mixes, especially "The Last Time," with its clear vocals, and "Satisfaction," with the acoustic guitar swung to the right channel, which cannot be heard on the current CD. Under My Thumb" and "Wet in Black!" The news of his sudden death on August 24, 2021 left us all feeling a sense of loss. The Stones, having lost a key element of their rhythm, however, announced that they would resume touring. They are still touring in the U.S. to carry on Charlie's legacy. This is a memorial album for Charlie Watts, the one and only drummer. Liner notes in Japanese, including the circumstances of the time, episodes, and song titles.
