Description:
1960s-70s. Many musicians from Zaire (now the Republic of Congo) left their homeland and began to play in Kenya and other East African countries. In July 1976, young members of Baba Gaston's orchestra, which was based in Bumbasi, East Congo, left the group and formed a new group, Les Mangalupa. They represented the new generation of Zairean music in Kenya at that time. This album is composed mainly of recordings of Les Mangaloupa in their heyday (late 70's). (C)RS
