This is the debut album by Balkan Taxim, a Bucharest-based project that reconstructs traditional music from the Balkans using a variety of instruments and equipment. Starting with a motif of a high-speed train running east-west in Turkey, the album features a repertoire of their original and traditional songs, including famous songs from southern Romania and southern Serbia, as well as marriage songs from all over the Balkans.
