Three substantial works that show the transition to the masterpieces of the latter half of his career. The mixture of thrills and depth is typical of Antonini! Haydn, the "father of the symphony," wrote more than 100 symphonies over a period of nearly 40 years, leading his pupil Beethoven to break new ground in the same field. The "Haydn 2032" project will record all of Haydn's symphonies, sometimes with related works, by 2032, the composer's 300th anniversary. Since the project began in 2014, the conductor and performers have attracted attention for their brilliant and insightful new interpretations.
