Music of Bruckner's Disciples Some of Anton Bruckner's disciples, in contrast to their teacher, devoted great passion to chamber music composition. This 2-CD set includes world premiere recordings of works by three of them. Paul Caro, a native of Breslau (now Wroclaw), studied with Bruckner from 1880 to 1885. He dedicated the Piano Trio to his teacher. Miles Walden, born in Linz, began writing works under Bruckner's personal tutelage in 1875. The Trio is one of her first successful works. Franz Marschner, a native of Bohemia, studied counterpoint with Bruckner from 1883 to 1885, and this ambitious work has a thick sound. The Tonari Trio, composed of three young internationally active musicians, skillfully performs these works. Other piano works by Hunaiss and Strauss, also students of Bruckner, are also included, performed by Daniel Linton-France, known for his "Bruckner's Letters and Music" series (GRAM99195 and GRAM99237).
