A collection of works by late Romantic composer Emanuel Moll. Born in Hungary, he studied with Bruckner in Vienna, performed as a pianist in the United States and Europe, and became a British citizen, but moved to Switzerland. He remained here until his death. His works were performed by many musicians of the time, and his scores were published by major publishers such as Zimrock in Berlin and Ricordi in Milan. In his later years, he also made a name for himself as an inventor of musical instruments, and his "pianoforte Emanuel Mohr," with its hand-keyboard stacked in two tiers, was highly praised by Maurice Ravel. However, he had a difficult personality and is said to have lost many friends because of his outspokenness. This album contains his works on the viola.
