Accordionist João Barradas, born in Portugal in 1992, made his debut with the album "Directions" in 2017, followed by the album "Portrait" in 2020. This is his "debut" album as a classical accordionist, reputed as a revolutionary of the jazz accordion society. In addition to Sequenza by Berio and Piazzolla, already considered classics of contemporary music, the album includes works written for Barradas by French composer Yann Robin, as well as classics for keyboard by Scarlatti, Sweelinck, and Bach. The various faces of the accordion are heard with fresh sensitivity. In the "Passacaglia and Fugue" for organ, the range and breadth of the accordion's range and expressiveness are astonishing.
