Hervé Nicquet is a dynamic and interesting performer of Vivaldi French Baroque vocal music filled with humanity and propulsion by female chorus and strings, but in fact he also performs Italian music with outstanding sensitivity. His first program for the Alpha label was a collection of Vivaldi church music, which he chose because of his fascination with Baroque female choral music, with its polyphonic development within a limited range. The famous Gloria is performed in a version without wind instruments, which allows the audience to enjoy the dramatic ups and downs that stand out in the piece. The program does not indulge in the "Vivaldi style" that makes it easy to create momentum in other works as well, and while carefully interpreting the lyrics with attention to detail, it is not a little difficult and sublimates them into a dramatic development, as one would expect.
