Description:

The Nadelmann Harp, the famous instrument used by Marie Antoinette A piece that speaks and listens to all the delicate nuances of 18th and 19th century music. The Nadelmann Harp, made by Jean-Henri Nadelmann (1734-1799), a harp maker in the service of Marie Antoinette, and his sons Henri (1782-1846) and François Joseph (1781-1835), who inherited his workshop, is a historical masterpiece that is essential to understanding 18th- and 19th-century The Nadelmann harp is a historical masterpiece that is indispensable for understanding harp music of the 18th and 19th centuries. This album was recorded using two Nadelmann harps, and the program is a wide range of works from the same period as the instrument, and the essence of the music can be smelled with reality. Masumi Nagasawa, a harpist active mainly in Europe, started out playing the modern harp, but when she picked up the Nadelmann harp, she was overwhelmed by its charm. I learned a musical perspective that emphasized technique, fingering, ornaments, and improvisation. She says that her study of period instruments is not limited to "the music of the time can only be played on ancient instruments," but that what she has cultivated can be transferred to modern instruments and enrich the musical language. This is a remarkable piece that shows the results of her work to a great extent. C.Ph.E. Bach said, "Do not play like a mechanical bird, but sing from the soul. As these words indicate, there is a deep expression in the way ornaments are played that cannot be expressed by notes, and different composers have different approaches to this. It is only by carefully examining these approaches that a performance expression with depth can be created.
