The Tower

Description:

Magnum's legendary singer Bob Catley's first solo album and masterpiece of the century has been re-released in a new paper jacket! (1998) MAGNUM, one of the most influential and respected HR/HM bands in the U.K., has been at the forefront of the scene for over 50 years since its formation in 1972, The band's career came to an end with the passing of founder Tony Clerkin (g) in 2024.Bob Kattley's acclaimed first album "The Tower", released in 1998, has finally been reissued in a newly revised edition with new artwork and bonus tracks! The new artwork is by Rodney Matthews, the master of the MAGNUM series of albums! Bonus tracks include three songs from a live performance at the same time! The Japanese version of the album will be released in a paper-jacketed edition that will bring Rodney's artwork to life! The release of Bob Catley's first solo album coincided with Tony's announcement of the dissolution of MAGNUM in 1995 and the start of a new band, HARDRAIN, with Bob, and Gary Hughes (Vo/TEN) and others at the initiative of Bruce Mee of Now & Then Records. Bruce Mee of Now&Then Records initiated a collaboration with Gary Hughes (Vo/Ten) and others, and began working on a solo album. The Tower" is his debut solo album with Gary Hughes as producer and songwriter. The members who participated in the album were Gary (key & bass), former DARE guitarist Vinnie Burns on guitar, Greg Morgan on drums, and all the members of TEN at that time, and they performed melodic hard rock bursting with melancholy, and the whole album was colored with an Irish flavor. The album was released in November, and was a huge success in Europe and Japan. Bob continued to work with Gary on two more albums, "Legends" (1999) and "Middle Earth" (2001). After MAGNUM reunited in 2001, Bob continued to be at the forefront of the music scene, participating fully in EDGUY's Tobias Samet's AVANTASIA.
