Description:

Erika de Cassiere, one of the most important R&B artists of the next generation, releases her latest album with Natal Zaks, aka DJ Central, as her co-producer again! Erika de Cassiere, one of the most important artists of the next generation of R&B, is releasing her latest album on 4AD! The 33-year-old Danish singer, songwriter, and producer built a cult following with her 2019 debut album "Essentials" and further solidified her "cult status" with "Sensational," her first album for <4AD> in 2021. Since then, she has been a fixture at some of the world's biggest festivals. Since then, she has performed at some of the world's biggest festivals, written songs for the next generation of K-pop icons, New Jeans, and participated in some of the hottest dance tracks released by Mura Masa, Shy Girl, and more. She may have gained many new fans and many prominent collaborators (Dua Lipa, Blood Orange, Earth Eater, etc.) over the past three years, but as the title of this album, Still (= Still), tells us, she is still the same Erika de Cassiere. Still. Her unique sound, a mix of luxurious electronica and moonlit R&B, is further explored on this album to create a sound that is one-of-a-kind. Her songwriting is as clever and universally accessible as ever, and her skills as a producer have improved, and for the first time, she has produced voices other than her own (Zay Hate Change, Shy Girl, Blood Orange). She has also brought in new collaborators, working with live musicians as well as sampling.Natal Zaks, aka DJ Central, who co-produced "Essentials" and "Sensational," was on board again, but also Jonathan Jull Ludvigsen, Carl Emil Johansen, and Niels Kirk, Christian Rohde Lindinger, Nick Leung, Kirsten Nyhus Janssen, and Tobias Sax joined the group, which also included live drums, synths, guitar, and bass. I find myself wanting to satisfy the people who know my music. So I don't want to change my sound too much. But I want to satisfy my desire to grow, and I don't want to stay in the status quo. But I've also realized that it's hard to escape my sound." she says. The domestic CD release will include an additional bonus track, and will also include a commentary and bilingual lyrics.
