This is the first collection of solo performances by Shinpei Ruike, who has delivered a richly varied body of work, and the first solo performance of his career on a single trumpet. The unique music unfolds in a gradation of sounds, from acoustic sounds that utilize the beautiful tones of live sound to contemporary sounds that make full use of digital beats via samplers. The result is a work that gives the audience a sense of the rich expressive power of the trumpet and its further possibilities. The recording was made at Taro Okamoto's studio in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, and was a "one-shot" recording, just like a live recording. Days of Delight Founder & Producer Akeomi Hirano comments For Shinpei Ryoke, solo performance is a trigger for dialogue with his own body, an opportunity to expand his own expression, and a time to face the essence of his instrument.What is transparent in the background is the desire to expand the appeal and possibilities of the trumpet, an instrument that is "part of the body," and I believe that the solos are the purest embodiment of this spirit.
