Stick Men—a powerhouse progressive rock trio consisting of Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, and Marcus Reuter—has garnered significant attention for their incredible musical prowess and heavy, progressive songs. In 2022, they performed a three-day tour in Japan. Now, their first full-length studio album in 10 years, Let’s THRAK Again (Original Title: Let’s THRAK Again (Reel One)), is being released exclusively in Japan in a UHQCD paper sleeve edition—a world premiere! Tony Levin, a seasoned veteran of the Chapman Stick, and Marcus Reuter, who masterfully wields the highly versatile 8-string touch guitar, are setting the modern standard for cutting-edge touch-style performance. Together with Pat Mastelotto’s hybrid acoustic and electronic percussion, they push the limits of their instruments to the extreme, breaking new ground in both sound and composition. Released 31 years after King Crimson’s 1995 album THRAK, this new work is a deeply respectful tribute that has received Robert Fripp’s full approval and support. “Swimming in Tea,” which was also performed during their 2022 Japan tour, is the album’s lead video single and the only track featuring vocals. The studio version on this album was recorded at twice the normal speed, delivering a scorching, adrenaline-fueled climax. The title track is a playful, technically intricate piece built around King Crimson’s signature cross-rhythms. Additionally, two Japan-exclusive bonus tracks have been included, and—at the artist’s request—the Japanese edition features a jacket with a distinct color scheme. A jacket design sticker is also included. This is a rare, special-edition release crafted specifically for Japanese fans.
